FY2020 Comparison and Analysis Graphs: Florida Standards Diagnostic Assessments
Welcome
to the 2020 version of the FSA Diagnostic Levels Comparison Graphs. These graphs display the results by levels enabling the user to compare a selected school against the District and against any other school of the same type in the District.
You will also find in the menu above links to web applications that compare a school's achievement in the individual Reporting Categories with the District’s mean score for each category for ELA, Math, Science and Civics. For more information about the FSA Reporting Categories used for ELA and Math please visit:

and for Civics please visit:

.
Each stacked bar graph application once selected from the menu above will show the scores for English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Civics tests by level, defaulting to the overall district levels for all grades. To view information for an individual school, click on the drop-down list at the top left. A graph for the chosen school will appear side-by-side with graph representing the District scores for the same grades as the selected school. The radio buttons that appear at the top center of the form allow the user to select from 2 types of comparison - the default comparison is the District. The second button allows comparison with other schools of the same type determined by grade range.
Results with non-standard grade structures are being handled slightly differently this year in order to make available the most useful options for comparison with other schools. In Math the same type schools are grouped by standard elementary (3-5), then 3-6, 3-8 and finally middle schools. In some cases there will be empty grades when a school didn't have anyone taking that grade's test. Obviously if one wishes to compare with a school not listed, a second instance of the application in a second browser window can be opened and the school school desired can be selected from the first drop-down there. The ELA graphs function similarly, but because the number of of non-standard grade groupings was spread out into more and smaller subsets, we chose to group the non-standards as "Combo" schools like the state does. Once again a second instance of the application can be used to compare with any other school (or schools.) For the aforementioned schools that span more than one of the standard grade groups we are also offering the ability to select the elementary grades (SCHOOLNAME + (EL)) to compare with other elementary schools with standard grade structures, middle school school grades (SCHOOLNAME + (MS)) to be able to compare with standard middle schools and when appropriate high school grades (SCHOOLNAME + (HS)) for comparison to other standard high schools.
In addition, the radio buttons at the bottom of the graphs allow the user to filter by individual demographic groups. The default is All Students, but the graphs can be filtered to include only Black, White, Hispanic, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), English Language Learners (ELL), or Free-or-Reduced Lunch (FRL) students.
Using these graphs, select your school to help answer the following:
Are there any patterns in the graphs I can use to understand who is succeeding and who is not in the different sub-groups of students at my school?
How is my school doing in comparison to other district schools dealing with the same or similar challenges as we are?
Are there special areas in my schools results that deserve extra attention? Are specific groups of our students not getting what they need to excel?
