2015 Comparison and Analysis Graphs: Florida Standards Assessment
Division of Performance Accountability
Department of Research and Evaluation
Following the recent release of FSA results to Florida's school districts,
The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) provided a formula for converting the T-Scores it originally released into Scale Scores, and then provided a set of cut scores recommended to the Governor by FLDOE Educational Experts. We have used the State provided cut scores to generate standard levels for our District schools and have developed this web application to allow the data to be represented visually in stacked bar graph format. These graphs display the different levels enabling the user to compare a selected school against the District, selected similar schools (based on the student demographic and prior School Accountability Report data), and any other school of the same type in the District. It also allows non-standard grade level schools like Pahokee Middle High School and Village Academy to perform similar types of comparisons of the subsets of their grade groups to other District schools.
We have also developed web applications that compare a school's achievement in the individual Reporting Categories with the District’s mean score for each category. For more information about the FSA Reporting Categories please visit:

.
The two tabs in the menu above containing the word “Levels” lead to stacked bar graph applications representing scores for English Language Arts and Mathematics. To use these web applications for school level information, select an individual school from the drop-down list. A graph for the chosen school is compared side-by-side with the District for the grades of the selected school. Use the radio buttons at the top of the form to select comparison with similar schools, with other schools of the same type, or to return to the District comparison. In addition, the buttons at the bottom of the graphs allow the user to select more detailed information. The graphs default to All Students, but can be filtered using these buttons by different subgroups such as: Black, White, Hispanic, Exceptional Student Education (ESE), English Language Learners (ELL), or Free-or-Reduced Lunch (FRL).
The remaining tabs lead to the two Reporting Categories apps in which you can select a school/grade combination and see how that school did in the categories for that grade and subject in comparison with the District mean.
